Hunters (Early Afternoon, Day One)

[Gwenyth Snow]

"I wanna try that someday!" she said with some enthusiasm. "But falcons must catch pretty small birds, no, because it's not that big, right?"

[Desmond Terrick]

"That's true." he nodded. "Falconry is for small game. I go hunting with Walder and my bow for anything larger."

[Gwenyth Snow]

"He seems a little thin," she noted with a skeptical eye at the lean hound. His Walder was taller than her Walder, but her Walder was a bit more stocky and stout.

[Desmond Terrick]

"I know, but that seems to be how he is." he explained. "He's always been lean, no matter what I feed him."

[Gwenyth Snow]

"Are the other dogs where you're from like him too? Skinny, I mean?" Poor Walder, so thin, she thought with some worry, wondering if perhaps some proper Northern food would fatten him up and help him build some muscles.

"Back home, we got all kinds of dogs, but I don't think I've seen anyone like your Walder."

[Desmond Terrick]

"Father brought him home to me." he answered. "I'm not sure where he came from. He's fast, though, and agile."

[Gwenyth Snow]

"He's got long legs, so I believe that," she grinned and nodded. "Wally's really fast too, even if he's shorter... he can chase down rabbits and squirrels really fast too."

[Desmond Terrick]

"So can my Walder." he smiled. "They're both good dogs. Have you had Walder since he was a pup?"

[Gwenyth Snow]

"Kinda. I mean, the master of hounds back home trained him, but I've known him since he was a puppy, and he's been with me for two years now. I'm not good at training animals... at least not yet. Maybe I'll be when I'm older." She shrugged. "I think I'd like to train the dogs, or the horses."

[Desmond Terrick]

"I could teach you." Desmond offered. "I know a few things, from training Walder and helping Erreg with the birds."

[Gwenyth Snow]

"Oh, you trained Walder yourself?" she was very impressed. "I'd love to learn!"

[Desmond Terrick]

"You and Walder are already pretty close, so it should be easy enough." he gave her dog another petting. "Is there anything you'd like to teach him?"
