A Red & Black Event
The sun is low in the west as the festivities begin on the meadow commons. Buskers stroll through the crowds: bards sing at the top of their lungs, a myriad of jugglers ply their art. A group of tumblers do acrobatics, flipping one another into the air and balancing on a finger tip of another's hand.
Merchants call from the stalls of the market and drunken revelers sing at the top of their lungs along with the bards.
"A bear there was, a bear, a bear!
All black and brown and covered with hair!"
Suddenly, a voice shouts above the crowd, "Watch where you're going, you little Dornish whore!" The revels suddenly cut silent and everyone looks down the green to where a large bear of a man, his face covered in a black beard, stands over a startled Dornish serving girl from the Bottom of the Barrel. Scattered around her feet are a tray and three mugs, all empty; the bear man, for his part, drips with the contents of the drink.
Already there are those lining up on each side...
The first step is to decide which side of the conflict you'll enter in on; supporting the Bear Man will count your points towards the Red while supporting the Dornish Girl will count your points towards the Black.
Methodology
It's clear this is going to quickly dissolve into an uncontrollable situation. Some look ready to fight and other look ready to shout it out.
There seems to be a few reasonable faces gathering as well, but they have their work cut out for them... Choose one of the following methods and roll the appropriate test:
Fighting (Brawling) - Challenging (6)
Persuasion (Intimidate) - Challenging (9)
Persuasion (Charm) - Formidable (12)
Repeat the test until you fail a roll or until you've made a number of rolls equal to your Endurance; you may take an Injury to roll an additional time. Take one Bear point (if you support the Bear Man) or one Maiden Fair point (if you support the Dornish Girl) for each degree of success on each roll; characters which made and succeeded on at least one Persuasion (Intimidate) roll add one point to their total while characters which made and succeeded on at least one Persuasion (Charm) roll add two points.
Outcome
The character with the highest Bear or Maiden Fair points in each of the three roll categories will receive a unique Quality that will apply for the duration of the tournament.
If there are more total Bear Points, this event is considered to have been won by the Red.
If there are more total Maiden Fair Points, this event is considered to have been won by the Black.
