[D2 LM] Joust: Grance Morrigen vs. Robert Ashford

The two opponents, one in Ashford orange and the other in Morrigen green, sat ready on their horses at opposite ends of the field. In a flash, they charged at each other; just slightly off the middle of the run, their weapons collided with one another, shattering into a spray of wooden shards. Robert struggled under the blow, barely righting himself before falling, as their horses galloped on.

Squires working at list side quickly provided new lances and they spun, readying for another pass. Another charge - the spears shatter. Both jousters tottered but held in to the saddles.

They turn, preparing for one final pass - one way or another, they know, this will end. The two combatants charge: Robert's smashes into his opponents and the Morrigen's lance goes wide. The impact is harsh and there's an audible crunch. Grance Morrigen tumbles from his horse, barely able to even flail. He hits the ground with a thump. The crowd hushes...

Morrigen warily raises an arm to signal he's all still alive - but a pair of solidly built pages rush out to drag him off the field.

Robert removes his helmet and lifts a gauntleted hand in victory.
