[LA D2] Observing the Squires' Joust

[Talieas Corbray]

Kaliya's dress was currently competing for his attention almost as much as the jousts.

"Then you can call me Talieas - or Tal." He laughs suddenly. "Everyone seems to call me Tal."

Nodding at her comments he then looks around for one of the servants. "A fine wish. Let's do that." Signalling one young lad over and ensuring that wine would be brought to them he then turns back to her. "Any competitors from... the Dunns, right?"

[Kaliya Redding]

"Verry well, Tal, I shall do that." She offers him a smile of gratitude as he signals for wine. "The Lorrd heirr will be jousting for the honourr of House Dunn today." Kaliya makes no mention of the absence of Lord Commander Thaddeus, though missing this event would certainly have the rumour mill abuzz. The Lorrd Commanderr might not like my kin, but that does not mean I shall not rrun interferrence for Kevan's sake, she decided.

Arwyn, dressed in a curve-hugging, belted wrap with a light and airy skirt, is also attending, observing the Squire's Joust. There were a few people competing that she was interesting in the progress of... Her brother, Kevan... possibly one other person, but she didn't know their name. She moves gracefully through the stands, also nodding with a smile to the people she knew before turning her attention to the joust.

A familiar figure approached the Northern lady, taking an appreciative look at her. It's been a long while since he thought of a woman in that way... and he wasn't too keen on putting that first for now. His House needed help, not a wife.

Schrodinger's jouster greeted in a neutral tone. "Mind if I join Lady Forrester?"

Arwyn rises and dips into a curtsy as she hears Warryn's voice, turning toward him with a soft smile. "Lord Wydman, of course. You're always welcome. Please do."

Warryn let out a laugh. "I'm not lord yet melady. Thank the Seven, the Stranger is staying away from my father." For the time being.

"You look lovely today, if I may say so."

She smiled and let out a small breath through her nose that toyed with the edge of being a chuckle. "Thank you very much. You're looking rather dashing yourself, if I may say."

"I ended up running into another young man attached to your House right now... Talieas Corbray."

"Ah, good old Tal. He's a good friend." He sat down, favoring the lady with a smile. "And thank you. I try. Hope all has been well with you?"

Hearing the young knight bring up the lack of their competitors twice now in short time, Oswell wondered if there was something more to it.

"And is that something that concerns a noble servant of House Kellington? A lack of...future prospects?"

"It would be nice if Lord Kellington had a young son or two to participate. And I believe he only recently decided that it was time to see to that," Davelyn says with a more serious note.

After the toast and a sip he addresses her question. "In the main lists yes. We've not got any talented enough squires with us currently."

[Kaliya Redding]

"Yes," Kaliya replied, "Serr Wydman did his House prroud," she says noncommittally, trying not to upset the space-time continuum too noticeably. "And yourrself? do you mean to challenge the champions as well?"

[Talieas Corbray]

"If the steward sees fit to give me a shot I'd challenge them all, even the prince - though only to say I'd broken lance with him haha!" Tal replies enthusiastically.

Laughing warmly, "you must let me know if you make the lists. I expect to attend each joust, but I should like to make a special efforrt if it was to cheerr you on."

"I will Lady Kaliya, it's a promise. With you then I'd strive to do well all the harder." Talieas replies cheerfully.


As Kevan does well he gives a big cheer. Turning to the Dornish woman he grins happily. "He has some talent, that Kevan."

"He does," she says with some pride, before her tone turns teasing, "a grreat many talents."

"The Burrow can only go frrom strrength to strrength with Lorrd Kevan at the helm."

"Oh? You're very supportive." Tal smiles brightly. "What are some of his many talents?"

She recalled that when they had met the night before, some of her innuendo had flown completely over his head, it seemed it had happened again. Regardless, she was quite serious, "aside frrom his skill in the joust, he is an accomplished warriorr and tactician, and no doubt he will put on a memorrable display in the grrand melee, as well as the equestrrian. Norr is he any slouch in managing rresources and people."

"But I cannot imagine why you wish to know this, unless you arre meaning to prropose. Do you fancy yourrself a Lady of the Rreach?"

"Ah, good old Tal. He's a good friend." He sat down, favoring the lady with a smile. "And thank you. I try. Hope all has been well with you?"

"Fairly well so far... I suppose it's still early, but I feel hopeful," she replies with a smile, letting out a breath like she'd been holding it for a while. "And yourself?"

"Your brother seems to be doing well. Met him the other day. A decent person, Ashford is richer with him, just like with you." He flashed her a confident smile. He got both jeers and cheers during the day, but he weathered it all.

"He wants to be a tourney knight, so I suppose it's good that he's doing well," she says with a slight nod. The commend about Ashford brings a little more of a smile to her face. "It is for your presence, as well. Did Ser Corbray mention the possibility of speaking with you later?"

"It would be nice if Lord Kellington had a young son or two to participate. And I believe he only recently decided that it was time to see to that," Davelyn says with a more serious note.

"Heir and a spare." Oswell mumbled in the oft quoted adage about the line of succession.

"Shame he's not put his equipment to good use before now, but glad he's seeing the light and looking to the future of his house. Bless the Seven what I wouldn't give to have the option of fatherhood." He sighs slightly, making sure his words were soft enough not to carry too far.

"Has he any immediate prospects? Lady Ashlyn may be a little young for him." Oswell adds as the first name that popped into his head.

"We're still working on it. I arranged for him to meet with the daughter of Lord Forrester but do not yet know how that meeting went. But I am trying to meet with eligible women beforehand so as to make his intentions known and arrange meetings."

Oswell sighs mentally. Of course you fucking did. Mother of Mercy do you have to make my job so fucking hard?

"I believe I've made the acquaintance of Lady Forrester as well. She does seem a lady of impeccable breeding, did she tell you of her plans to visit every corner of Westeros? A truly ambitious project, even in the eyes of a seasoned traveller such as I."

"She did not make mention of such to me, no. She taught me a bit about the old gods that her family follows and I told her of Dorne. It was a pleasant conversation. My hope in setting the meeting was that even if Lord Cedric and her did not find marriage prospects agreeable they might still see how the houses might aid each other," he replies.

"My hope is to make several introductions as I can over the tourney and allow Lord Kellington and Maester Endrew determine suitable matches. I don't know who he might eventually be paired with, only that I can do some of the legwork in order to ensure he meets with proper, eligible ladies."
