Kaelyn Dunn wrote:"You hair is lovely. The curls can allow it to braid well. The girl who used to do my hair had such waves and I insisted she teach me what she was doing, so I experimented on her. It took my Septa a long while to figure out why it took forever for me to come down for lessons." she smiled openly at the memory of being found out.

"Of course you can come look through my things." She leaned in close to not be overheard. "You'll find my Father spent a small fortune on dresses that would help me land a husband." She pulled back, and put a hand on Arwyn's arm, "Virtuous, of course, I don't mean they're improper. But I think you and I are similarly complected so anything I can wear, you can wear. If you find one you like, you're most welcome to borrow it. We'll make a time of it. I would suggest tomorrow but I don't know what will be expected of me and when it will be expected. Forgive me on that count?"

"I guess it does make that easier... though it gets frizzy
Much more easy, too," she muses, studying it. She looks over. "Yours is beautiful. You wouldn't have to dress it at all if you didn't wish."

"Oh, of course," she replies, shaking her head. "I'm sure your family will have much to handle tomorrow. Even I may have business there. I understand demands on your time. It's fun to look forward to, though."

Kaelyn really didn't register the crowd around her. She was focused on her new friend. "I have a head piece that I think would look gorgeous with your eyes. I would love to have eyes like yours. I'll bring the piece by tomorrow when we do your hair. You can decide if you want to try it or not." she told Arwyn sincerely. "I have the hair and eyes of my Dornish mother and the paler skin of my Southron father." she explained. "Dornish hair is always very dark, but it does tend to cooperate."

She sighed. "Tomorrow is bound to be a long day, but it will be nice to start it off right. With some proper fun between Ladies." She grinned and giggled.

"Both, it depends a bit on the circumstance which I might carry with me. I was thinking sword and shield for tomorrow, but I haven't made a decision yet." He really needed to, it was getting close. "A spear is also an option, or maybe a longsword and dirk... If such is allowed."

"Exactly - it's best to prepare for a long day with something pleasant," she agreed with a smile.

"I'm sure I'd be happy to try it. Your eyes are so interesting, though. They're a warm color, and the dark tone makes them look mysterious," she replies with a warm smile. "Quite the combination - your hair and skin could make you easily blend in the North, but those dark eyes are at home in the South. Everywhere you go, you would look familiar, yet have some particular aspect that makes you catch the eye."

To his personal disgruntlement, even on this Kevan agreed with Arwyn. To shake off the heated memories of last night and the pain of confessing them earlier in the morning he had to rise and stretch his joints, maybe ride out and exert himself with sword practice to alleviate the sense of near-boiling-over that was accompanying him. But as he rose, he unwittingly came into the view of both ladies and retreat stopped to be an option. Especially that while his reason guided him out, his masculine instincts drew him toward the women that excited him so.

His smile, therefore, turned a little feral.

"My ladies, I hope you're enjoying the jousting."

"I am flattered, Lady Arwyn. Truly. Am I to understand that all the members of your family share you sparkling eyes? We should..." She trailed off, her own eyes popping out of her head. She had managed to pull herself together, Arwyn possessing the miracle of granting one a reprieve from stress, when Kevan came into view. Into close view as well.

"My Lord, ...." She opened her mouth to say more but nothing came. 'Oh Gods...'

"A couple of my siblings have grey eyes. We all look like Starks to greater and lesser degrees, basically," she replied with a smile. "Should...?" She turned to follow Kaelyn's gaze. "Oh! Good morning, my lord. I'm sorry I didn't see you there earlier." The slightly wild look in his eyes inspired a tinge of pink to blossom on her pale cheeks.

Kaelyn was also blushing for a not entirely different reason, but different nevertheless. "Were you off somewhere important, Lord Dunn, or would you care to join us?"

She made sure to gesture to the seat next to Arwyn and not between them. Although she partially hoped Kevan would take the out she'd provided, another larger part of her hoped he would sit. She did long to be near him, but she also well knew she needed to see his love for Arwyn first hand. It would make it real and give her something to cling to when feelings threatened to make her something she never wanted to be; an encumbrance to true happiness.

Fresh from his conversation on fidelity with Arwyn earlier in the morning, Kevan did not waver in choosing the seat near the Ravenhair. In spite of, or because of noticing certain symmetry in blushes. He actually did not make direct eye contact with either, feeling that could be just stoking the fires of desire, jealousy and guilt which lingered despite having been squarely, rationally eschewed.

"We're all here to observe the jousts, are we not? Though I imagine like-minded young ladies have common topics to discuss in the meantime nonetheless." He kept his wandering smile.

"Quite the contrary. We were just discussing the man who bested that other man. The ones wearing armor. What did you think of them?" Winking at Lady Arwyn, she smiled and laughed, hoping to dissipate some of the tension likely only she was feeling by jesting.

Arwyn sensed the tension, observing Kaelyn's blush and Kevan's refusal to meet either of their eyes. She had been trained to be socially perceptive. The conversation from earlier entered her mind, and she suddenly wondered if this was her. Well... if she was, it wasn't as though she could blame him. She was attracted to her, as well. Still, maybe that edge to his smile had been meant for Kaelyn, then, and not her. She took a quiet breath through her nose to calm her heart. She was probably totally wrong and reading too much into it. Her expression became thoughtful, but long habit kept a smile on her face.

Still, Kaelyn's words broke her out of her thoughts, and she chuckled a little. "Oh yes. They certainly had lances," she agreed with a smirk of her own, following along. She looked toward Kevan, seeking his eyes. Please look at me... Not that he could hear the hope in her mind.

She giggled and took Lady Arwyn's hand instinctively. What if she found out and thought Kaelyn was only being friendly out of some sort of guilt or deception? She found herself genuinely seeking this girl's approval and friendship, adding to her guilty conscience. She'd never been good with deception, either pulling it off or living with it. It weighed down one's heart and she had enough to worry about in general. Finding a proper husband, not letting down her House, the fate of her brother and his future family, learning what it takes to be a wife to be proud of... She simply never wanted to spend her time playing games.

If her Lord chose to confess, she would confess as well she decided. She didn't wish to move forward in what might be one of the best friendships she could have with a Lady. Most of Kaelyn's friends were servants, and she didn't have many. In her darker moments she wondered if they were kind simply because she was their employer. She'd shake those feelings off easily enough the majority of the time. But to have a friend who shared her station was a new feeling and one that Kaelyn found she liked. Silently she wondered if that made her a snob.

At the jokes he genuinely smirked, and it was in that loss of control when the ocean sought the blue sky. Their gazes met for a fleeting moment but for Arwyn there could be little doubt what kind of emotion he had for her. Still, Kaelyn would have to be really perceptive to fully grasp the meanings hidden in the exchange of gazes between Kevan and Arwyn. Little was he himself aware of the depth of considerations happening now in between them, though he was instinctively aware that some of it might be about him. He rubbed the base of his nose before speaking.

"...Ah, I see your both are developing a taste for jousts." A soft chuckle. "I am trying to gauge their weak spots since I'll be competing against one of them in the lists in a few days." He did try to hide his curiosity about the extended hand.

At the look in his eyes when he met them, Arwyn unconsciously let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding for a brief second and her shoulders relaxed. She was a little surprised by feeling a hand in her from the other side and she turned to smile warmly at her, squeezing it gently but firmly, determined and reassuring. Even if it was true, she decided she wasn't going to let it get in the way of her new friendship, silently deciding to just let it go entirely. It felt petty to be jealous or worried, and she didn't want to let it burden her relationship with either cousin.

"I honestly just don't know what to look for exactly," Arwyn admits, glancing back over toward Kevan. "Jousting and... well, knighthood in general isn't common back home. I'll be supporting you when you compete with everything I have, though."

Kaelyn pulled her hand back and smiled at the love unfolding before her eyes. It was a queer feeling - watching something she'd never thought would play a role in her life. She found herself more curious than jealous despite the attraction she experienced only hours before.

If she could reach out and touch the feelings, if they were tangible beings, she might do so, ever so delicately. To be a part of it without being intrusive. To run her fingers along the sides of love and beauty given form.

She had to shake herself out of her dive into the realm of fantasy. "And how does one determine a weak spot, I wonder?" She questioned semi-genuinely. She was interested in the answer, but more interested in the two creatures sitting beside her.

"Well, better to overthink them before the battle than during the battle. That'll get you knocked out pretty fast," he says with smile. "But when the time comes you'll have to choose your weapon and you'll make a good choice I'm sure. Whatever you're most comfortable with is likely not a bad option."

"Your support matters a lot to me, my lady." Kevan did not hesitate to reply honestly, seeking how Kaelyn had already been figuring things out. "But my path toward being awarded knighthood leads not just through jousts, but through any public effort during this tourney. And the grand melee has every chance to be my forte, so please support me tomorrow." He smiled softly, but his nod was firm as his gaze found hers for a brief moment. He then glanced at Kaelyn. "Usually by watching how they want to make the best of their fortes to compensate for weaknesses. What they don't showcase in their posture and choice of tactics has a good chance of being the weakness they want not to come into play."
