[D2 LM] The First Break: Joust Main Event Observation

He might not be holding any official duties at this tournament, but any healer worthy of the name could not stand apart from the lists when a bout was taking place, regardless of who would be involved.

Oswell watched, his breath held as always during these displays, hoping no one would get injured, but ready in case someone was.

Tal was there and cheering on the young Lord. With his hands cupped around his mouth he called out enough that Warryn would easily hear him.

"Give it your best Warryn! Show him what a Wydman can do eh!"

It was a rather loud and energetic show of support!

Ywain gave a hurrah from the crowd. "You can't unseat a Wydman!"

Ser Allard was there. This was the time to observe his possible rivals. He was especially interested in how will Ser Warryn Wydman fare against Ser Androw Ashford and if he could add another part to his house' sigil.

Arwyn had promised to be there at the first joust in support of Warryn Wydman, and she watched the two prepare with interest and a smile, curious how it would go. She leaned forward a little in her seat to observe with interest.

Tal liked the sound of that and swiftly joined in his friend's wording. "Yeah! You can't unseat a Wydman!" He pumped a fist in the air enthusiastically.

Marqus was also there, close to his sister. He stood and waved at the Wydman heir. "Come on Ser Warryn!" An enthusiastic nod was offered to the man's other Wydman supporters.

Then he leaned in to Arwyn. "Met him yesterday. Nice bloke."

Cassana Algood found herself at the joust as well. She looked over to the two Forrester siblings and decided to approach them. She eyed Arwyn watching Warryn and suppressed a frown. "Good morning to you two." She then gave Marqus a curtsy. "Cassana Algood, sister of Lord Algood of Redwall."

She smiles and nods. "He is... I met him, as well." She broke into a bright, genuine smile as she sees Cassana. She was an effective distraction. "It's wonderful to see you again." She rises and curtsies at her. "My lady, this is my elder brother, Marqus."

Davelyn was present for the first match, excited to be watching but a bit disappointed to not be participating.

He clapped for all participants, but clearly favored Warryn in his matchup.

Marqus was momentarily speechless as the beautiful woman approached and introduced herself. He covered it with a bow.

"Delighted. My lady. Ah, would you care to join us?" He gestured to their seat which offered a decent view of the lists. "I met a Ser Ulrich Reyne yesterday, he mentioned that he was part of your House's delegation."

"It appears I have met your brother after all," Cassana mused to the Northern woman. She then gave a soft smile to Marqus and took the seat as offered. "I know Ser Ulrich Reyne vaguely. He is indeed here alongside my House."

Jousting, honestly it wasn't something Derrick saw much point in, but it was a entertaining thing to watch. He wasn't positioned too close to the various nobles in the stands. He might be a retainer of the Algoods but he was still a common man, so he found a seat in a more out of the way location, it wasn't the best view but it was good enough.

Derrick hoped Warryn did well, he seemed like a fairly nice fellow after all.

((pm if approaching))

"I suppose this is rather fortuitous, then." It was a little silly... why wouldn't she be at the joust?... but Arwyn was flustered. She looked to the side, studying her profile curiously until she realized she was, then turning with a little embarrassment back to the joust.

Whether quick or slow was debatable, but Kevan was a learner, and so he did not miss out on easy opportunities to learn. He came to the jousts for the top knights of the Kingdoms in duly presentable attire, displaying his ridiculous crest in an ostentatious fashion. There was no way around his father missing from the gathering at Ashford but being visible in his stead was the next best thing. He walked his way down toward the front rows both to see well and be seen well.

For all his foolhardiness and the onus he felt was on him, he was still awed by the concentration of the eminent personages of the realm. When was the last time he saw his Tyrell suzerain?

[PM if you want to talk.]

Martin waited in the lists, watching the jousters with a practiced eye, his arms folded across his chest. Despite the positioning of the lists, he still squinted just a little, the slight wrinkles around his eyes standing out.

He did not cheer with the crowd, but gave a tolerant nod at the crowd-pleasing antics. It was, to some extent, part of the game, after all.

Ser Androw was clearly wounded and starting to lose his ground against Ser Warryn. The heir of house Wydman was a great tourney knight, and Allard wondered how will he win against oponents with that level of skill.

He continues observing the joust.

Arwyn's attention is taken by the joust when Warryn finishes victorious and she's with the cheering crowd, a bright smile for her friend.

Lady Cassana got to her feet as well upon Warryn's victory and gave her own light applause for the man's victory. However, the truly perceptive may have seen that her expression was not incredibly jovial.

It had been a well fought match, and as Warryn turned out victorous Derrick joined in the applause. He would have to congratulate the man if he saw him later in the day.

Marqus cheered with the crowd, very pleased to see the Wydman heir get a victory. "Nice one Ser Warryn!"

With a laugh he turned to his sister and Cassana. "Good start to the Tourney, wouldn't you say?"

Allard also applauded to the victor and was a bit concerned about Ser Androw health. So in the end Ser Warryn will be able to add a White Sun with a chevron to his sigil.

This will be far more interesting than I first thought. Ser Allard wondered about the joust and his possible rivals.

When Kaliya drifted into the stands, it was the stoic blonde with expressive eyes that caught her attention. She slipped closer until she was at his elbow, and indicated to the space next to him on the bench, "may I?"

Martin's eyes, a grey flecked with blue, flickered over as the young woman approached. "You may. Please." He gestured with one hand, strangely graceful. He half rose as she moved to sit, politely waiting until she was seated before lowering himself once more.

For a time, then, he is silent, his serious expression and his focus on the assembling knights discouraging conversation. Finally, though, he relents a bit, glancing at Kaliya again. "Ser Martin Tremaine, at your service."
