[D3 LM] The Second Break: Joust Main Event Observation

The crowds are restless as the day's jousts begin...

As much of the crowd as possible has forced themselves into the covered stands; the standing area for the less fortunate observers is mostly deserted today. It seems few people have the heart to be out in this downpour.

Derrick has manged to be mostly out of the rain, though it was from sitting at the very edge of the covered area, and he was still occasionally being splashed by the rain. His right side starting to get soaked didn't seem to bother the young man though as his eyes looked towards the fields. He was nowhere near as soaked as the riders after all.

The jostling closeness of the crowds was grating on Kaliya's already frayed nerves, but it gave her an excuse to people-watch.

Slightly further into the covered area Tal watches as his the Wydman heir rides out to meet his challenger. Come on Warryn!

Arwyn sits in the stands, uncomfortable with the close press of the crowds, but wanting to watch the Joust.

There is no way Dusty would be let down now. Know him him he would gladly roll over in the mud and the Seven only know when he will be able to be cleaned up.

For the moment he was quite comfortably sitting inside one of Ferris's bag, head peaking out, occasionnaly letting a tiny bark at something that caught his attention.

Derrick let his eyes scan the crowd, looking for familiar faces, perhaps someone to talk to. He took in three, the Northerner girl who had seemed interested in the warrior woman he met, the Arrogant knight, and finally the Lady that wanted to... He couldn't finish the thought without going a little red.

He pondered if he should greet one of them, but in the end, of the two he would talk to he really didn't know either well enough to just walk over and talk. So, he instead concentrated on the jousts. Lord Warryn wasn't doing too well, but he seemed to be holding his ground at least for the moment.

The barking did catch his attention though, and he glanced towards the sound, trying to figure out where it was coming from.

When Warryn fell Tal was up, a hush falling over him. Apologising as he made his way through the crowd he moved toward the way into the grounds so he could try to cheer up the young heir. Rain was of no consequence.

Davelyn cared not for the rain, he had spent nearly three years in the Stormands thus far and a bit of a downpour was nothing. He was in his traveling trousers and boots, and that was it. He stood where he might get the best view of the jousts.

He had watched Warryn's joust closely, and saluted his effort.

Kaliya did not fail to notice the man-at-arms' gaze, and she had considered seeing if she could inch her way over there, but the crush of spectators was too much just to make a boy's ears turn red. Those crowds turned into a wall of defense however, when the attractive Dornishman joined to watch Waryyn tilt. They hadn't spoken since the day before and she felt that if she were able to greet him now, it would most assuredly interfere with her ability to simply enjoy looking at him.

Her day was looking up.

And then Waryyn fell.

The puppy made a little howl when the knight fell...it had been a solid hit. He scratched the puppy's hear to calm him as he stood up to get a better glance

''He will be fine, I am sure''

Arwyn stood as well, making sure that Warryn was safe, worry knitting her brows. Well... Hopefully someone would be there to help patch him up soon. The sad little howl caught her notice as the barking had earlier. Was that a puppy?

She was actually willing to navigate the close-pressed crowd to go find the puppy, giving her apologies to the people she slipped past as well as she could. She curstied... as much as she could, anyway, without getting in everyone's way... to Ferris when she found him... and the puppy! She spent a lot of time with the master of the hounds at home. "I apologize if I'm disrupting your viewing. Do you mind if I join you here?"

The attention of both man and tiny hound shifted from the scene to the lady approaching. Only one of them maintained proper composure, however, while the other was trying to jump out of the bag that held him. Ferris gently restrained the excited fluff ball before answering the lady.

''Absolutely not, I'll make you some place my lady'' with that he moved as best he could to give her the room she needed

"Thank you. I'm Arwyn Forrester, daughter of Lord Eddard Forrester of Ironrath. Pleased to meet you," she said before settling down in the spot he'd kindly made. "And pleased to meet you, too," she said with a bright smile to the excited little dog, at least letting him sniff her hand.

''Well met Lady Arwyn'' he says with the best bow he could manage considering the mass of people

''I am Ferris Cafferen and this is Dusty''

Has he was introduced the pup was already stretching his neck to lick its new neighbor

Allard arrived just in time as Ser Warryn was competing with Ser Hunfrey Beesbury. He observed very seriously each and every pass. Ser Hunfrey had the upper hand in this joust and unfortunately Ser Warryn was defeated by him. He applauded both the victor and the defeated.

The riverlander knight then waited for the next competitors. He was especially interested in what Ser Lyonel Baratheon, the Laughing Storm and heir to Storm's End would do.

Finding herself near the newest arrival, Kaliya smiled warmly to Allard. "That is a verry serrious exprression you werre wearring," she said over the rain and bustle of the crowd, her Dornish accent pronounced, "sizing up the competition, perrhaps?"

Arwyn isn't afraid to let the puppy lick her hand. "Well met," she nods. "Dusty seems very sweet. How has the tournament been for you and yours thus far?"

Allard was completely focused on the joust when the exotic attactive woman sat next to him. '' Oh, emm, aye...the competition seems...hard, I mean. There are many skilled knights here, milady.'' He was caught by surprise. His voice sounded a bit nervous. Yesterday he saw her observing the joust, and he talked about her with Ser Walder.

''Ehem, Ser Allard Terrick. '' He presented himself with a bit of more confidence.

With a smile, "Lady Kaliya Rredding; it is a pleasurre to meet you, Serr Allarrd Terrick," she seemed to be experimenting with the way his name sounded, the shape of it on her tongue. "Will you be challenging the champions, then?" she inquires.

So many trilled r's. His name sounded almost like a cat's purr in her lips. '' An honor to meet you Lady Redding '' Allard nodded almost like making a slight bow with his head. He could not look away from her lips. '' Ehmm...''

Alright, focus in something else...the joust He thought as he took away his eyes from her and focused them into the joust.

'' Hmm, aye. That's correct. I will try unseating one and then defend Lady Ashlyn's honor, milady. I'm not the best of jousters but I will try to do my best. And you, milady? Did you came here accompanying and to give your support for members of your house?'' He asked politely. Allard did not remember if there was any knight from house Redding in the tournament.

Kaliya's eyes glittered at his fluster, but she answered his question, "I am herre in supporrt of House Dunn, unforrtunately the Rreddings werre not able to send any knights to rreprresent House Dunn's interrests. But I have been grreatly enjoying the displays thus farr." His claim of modest skill catches her interest, it seemed uncommon for knights to downplay their skill.

The Goodbrooks arrive cloaked against the rain, commenting that the downpour is almost pleasant by Cape of Eagles standards. They don't try to press into the covered area that's so crowded, at least not right away, and instead they watch the people in the crowd and the jousters as they take the field. Reynard shows more interest in the tilts, trying to gauge the quality of competitors. Roycelyn shows more interest in the crowd, noting some interesting looking personalities--and a cute puppy, which had already attracted the attention of a girly girl.

Out in the crowd, the well muscled, bare chested Dornishman seems to be greatly enjoying the tilts. They were exciting and he watched as the tilt between Lord Daemon Westerling and Ser Robert Ashford came to a close. He clapped enthusiastically for the bout and both competitors. Which meant that Ser Lyonel Baratheon and Lord Leo Tyrell were up next and began to take the field.

Seeing that she did not mind the hyperactive fluff ball, he allowed Dusty out of the bag but stopped him from jumping all over lady Arwyn

''House Kellington is very present in this tournament in this tournament I am. Being no jouster myself I wait for the marksmanship contest.'' he replies witha polite smile

''And how is your House doing my lady? I had the good fortune of meeting your cousin Gwen the day before yesterday''
