Words Are Wind
A Red & Black Event
A Red & Black Event
The wind howls outside; Lofton has long since abandoned his post at the bar but lanterns still burned, illuminating the small crowd in the tables furthest from the walls. Though it seemed they were trying to be quiet, voices still carried in the room - to even someone barely paying attention, there is an argument in progress.
"Lord Ashford promises justice? Bah! The Tyrell is dead and his murderer sits in the tower cells!" one howls, slamming his fist down.
"Waiting for Lord Parcival," another replies, calmer even though he slurs slightly. "None can deny that the right of justice belongs to Lord Parcival - and damned if it wouldn't be treason to deny him that. Lord Ashford knows that better than any."
The first man spits, "That's a load of crap - Prince Baelor can pass judgment! We don't need Lord Parcival. Damn it, words are wind, you all know that! We need action. I say we march on the hold and demand proper revenge for Lord Tyrell!"
It looks like this could quickly get out of hand...
Intervention
The first step is to decide which side of the argument you'll enter on; chooding to Incite will count your points towards the Black while choosing to Mollify will count your points towards the Red.
I am the Law!
First, you need to convince them of your standing - after all, what they're discussing could be treason; they need to know the nobility support their actions or not. Roll a Status (Reputation) test against a Challenging (9) difficulty. For each degree of success, you earn one Incite or Mollify Point (as per your choice).
There's a Precedent here...
The history of Westeros is long and frought with all sorts of conflicts. Surely something must have happened in the past that you can call upon to sway them to your side! Roll a Knowledge (Education) test against a Challenging (9) difficulty. For each degree of success, you earn one Incite or Millify Point (as per your choice). If you have Knowledge Focus (History and Legends), you receive +1B on your roll.
Well, There It Is!
They're still not convinced. Perhaps you can talk them down the right path with some choice words then... Roll Cunning (Logic) for Mollify or Persuasion (Incite) for Incite against a Challenging (9) difficulty. For each degree of success, you earn one Incite or Mollify Point (as per your choice). If you have Favored of Smallfolk, the bonus applies to either of these rolls.
