Walking into the center of the main road into Ashford a woman with a Braavosi blade on her hip and a backpack slung over her shoulder stopped at the precipice. Surrounded by many of those moving about, either catching up on last minute preparations or just arriving themselves. There was an sense of productivity to it all, and the woman stood at it's center to take it all in. Slipping her bag off her shoulder she let it slide to the ground by her right foot and stretched her arms a bit. Inhaling deeply the scent of Ashford at work.
After so long on the road, she was here.

A walk was in order. Either to clear his head of the lingering nightmares, or to just wake him up. In either case Walder was out and about, observing the hustle and bustle of the travellers. His sizeable frame helped him pave his way through the travelers.
He noticed a woman standing in the crowd, a strange blade on her hip. He stopped beside her.
"That's a strange sword you've got there, lass."

"Is it?" she asked, craning her neck to look up at the near-giant of a man that now stood beside her. Sun shining off her lightly freckled cheeks, she added with a clever smirk, "Not so strange that you did not know it for a sword, however."

Walder shrugged. "You seen as many weapons and battles as I have you get a knack for this. Haven't seen many blades like that in my time though."

"Have you been out to the free cities, Braavos?" she asked, turning her eyes from the man and the sun back down to the world around them. Rubbing her neck a little as she did so.

An expression of understanding fills Walder's face. "Ah. Braavos. Of course, no wonder it's such a strange blade." He chuckles. "No. Cannae say I've ever been. As much as I've travelled in my life, I can't say I've seen that much of the world."

"I cannot say that surprises me," she says with a light, pleasant smile. Twirling her blade a bit by the hilt in the palm of her hand. "Are you here for the Tourney, ser?"

Walder looks around him, at the mass of people again. His expression turns slightly sour, which he manages to cover quickly.
"Hmph... Sort of. My main duty is as a guard, but I will most likely partake in a few of the games. Mostly the grand melee."

"Then I will keep an eye for you in the coming days then, Ser," she says with a light smile. Having a subconscious lift to her right brow when his expression had turned.
Looking about she attempted a moment to gain her bearings in the town. Certainly the Tourney had brought much to this town that was not here before, but she didn't even have the benefit of knowing the original layout to go off of.
"Would you do a lady a service and point her in the direction of the nearest Tavern, and wherever men might go to train with their steel?"

Walder chuckled and smiled. "Well yer in luck, lass, as I too am heading to a tavern just follow me." He started walking in the general direction of where he recalled the tavern to be. "So yer from beyond the narrow sea, then eh?"

Lifting her bag back up and slinging it over her shoulder she followed, speaking as she did, "For some time, yes, but I was born here in Westeros. When my Father died in battle there was little left for me here, so I sold everything my family ever owned and found passage to the furthest place I could find."

Walder furrowed his brow and nodded. "Och, I can understand that. Did much the same when I was a lad. Without me father dying though."

"I was just a lot more resourceful," she said, a mirthfulness to the smirk she wore.

He chuckled. "Nae. The pull to leave wasn't that strong for me is all it was. I just left for the North, instead of booking a passage on a ship."

Being sure to accompany it with a pleasant smile, she said, "Sounds like you just weren't that smart if you thought running off to the North was a good use of your time."

Walder chuckles again. "Nae. I was a bullhead and stupid sort when I was young. They used to call me Walder the Boar because of that."

"Bear would have been a better fit," she said, glancing to the man.

He shook his head. "Could be... I do prefer boars over bears any day. Boars taste better." He chuckled darkly.

Alessia gave a laugh that turned into an unsure chuckle by it's end.
"Alright, uh, anyway.." she said, with no real way to respond to the like she just took a few quickened steps so that she'd have a chance to look about while he caught up. Seeing where he was leading her, or just to get a look at Ashford again. Seeing who was around.
