We all have tasks ahead of us, and you seem quite capable of knowing and following your own. I am pleased to see that you are the heir to Dunn, for should you not have been quite as magnificent, I would show great concern for you future, and the negotiations that will inevitably pass between us. I'd feel guilty for taking advantage of a foolish man, or for asking help of a weak man."

He could not decide whether she was deeply ironic or she just had exaggerated figures of speech but in the end it might not have even mattered. He decided to reply with humour.

"Well, Lady Terrick, there is not one template to become an effective leader for we see how trial and error affect politics of the day at all levels. The Dunns have their own challenges these days and let's hope that once my time comes I'll be ready to meet them with whatever I've got. I am looking forward to the negotiations between us in days to come, for while your company and arguments are a delight in themselves, their edge is something I particularly relish facing for the sake of my own improvement, so that at least in my case the inferiority of the uglier side of humanity is less apparent to others than to your sharp discernment."

Wylla blinked, laughing openly a bit as she'd stumble, staggering about a bit as she had clearly forgotten her footing for a moment. Surprise taking hold of her, as she'd finally right herself, stroking her left and traitorous leg for a moment, working to keep herself properly turned in Kevan's general direction, her focus a bit lost.

"I do believe you are teasing me now~ And here I was showering you with praise."

Kevan had chivalrously rushed on instinct to support Wylla, but committed to it only if it was necessary, eschewing taking any kind of advantage.

"Me? Teasing? Such a serious young man? I find it hard to believe, though maybe you know me better than I know myself. Still, who would I be if I did not respond to your generous words with a genuine appreciation of your wit and charm? And I deliberately skip the beauty part because that would certainly paint a problematic picture of my intentions."
