[D2 MM] The Sword Strikes Back

Warryn was in the sparring square again, after breakfast. He had excess energy, and he know how bad being jumpy on a horse could be, so he decided to work some of it off. Besides, as good as a tourney was, he needed his sword skills sharp for whatever awaits him back home.
He was lost in thought, going through the motions.

Nearby a woman was watching, not the average woman by far. Where most wore dresses she wore traveling clothes with a distinct few leather pieces added into the ensemble. Pants, instead of a dress. With her sword at her side she sat up against a post and watched as Warryn went through his motions. Knowing he was gaining little from having so little focus.
With her sword comfortably laid to her side, she debated with herself on whether to wake him up or not.

Warryn suddenly turned around, thrusting to where his back was previously, knowing how the mountain clans favored attacking from ambush.
He was startled to notice a familiar yet mysterious face. "Hrm. My apologies Lady...."

"Just Alessia, Ser," she said from her spot in the grass. Continuing with an intent to keep as little of the pleasure she had in saying this from revealing itself as possible, "I am no highborn."
"Nothing to apologize for either, milord."

"Alessia then. Well met." He glanced at her sword. It was a weird piece, but well... the woman herself was weird.
"You were observing the other day, no?"

"I was, even when the sparring ceased," she said with a light smirk. "I was curious what would win out, a bunch of men about a lady. You either need to out charm, out boast, or out perform the others usually. From the looks of it, you all chose one of the first two."

Warryn bristled a bit, but he maintained his demeanor. "How lovely." His sword was still in his hand. "I'd rather not stab anyone for some conversation. I have enough of that already." His mood darkened.

"Hmm," she vocalized the little hum that showed she was having a thought. Though she said nothing. Glancing off toward the field she waited for him to question her, looking for him to chase.

"Interesting weapon. Don't think I've seen anything like it." He stated simply for now. What was this mad woman about?

There was a little smirk as he didn't chase the exact topic any further, instead of calling back to it however she merely followed the step.
"The further you were born from Braavos, the more likely you have never seen it's make," she said, looking back up to Warryn but squinting a little in the morning sun.

Bravoos... "Over the Narrow Sea then?" He was still terse, while he shook his hand with a sword. "You seem to be stalking the sparring grounds. Any particular reason?"

"Where better to watch others spar, and find the occasional bout for myself?" she asked, calmly and with a light smile rested on her lips.

That made the most sense out of you woman.
"Well then, up for a practice bout?" This woman was getting him agitated, and he needed to be calm. Time to focus a bit.

On her feet in nearly a second she offered a simple nod, "Always, milord. A chance to practice is always one to take."
Stepping past him she smirked. Finding a space out in the sparring field she turned about and faced Warryn.
"Whenever you are ready, milord."

It felt queer, fighting against a woman, but he did ask.
"Let's see what they taught you over there. And I'm no lord yet, just a knight."
He raised his sword, at a ready.

Slowly Alessia pulled her Braavosi blade from her side, whipping it out to the side once it was clear. Speaking as she removed her dagger from her side as well and dropped into a stance, "You are no commoner, milord."
Alessia was fast, getting her guard up almost immediately as she stepped forward and tested his defense. Striking out and dashing his blade aside to look for an opening but finding none. Instead, she remained as she was, careful footwork as she took the combat into a clockwise rotation. Lips turned up into a cocky grin as they begun the dance.

Warryn aimed carefully, then slipped past to hit the woman with his longsword. She was certainly well guarded, but he was no slouch. It was meant as a feeler for now, his face intent on concentration.

With a nod she smiled, conceding the strike to him. It was well struck, after all, to slip past her defenses like he did and tap her arm. Unfortunately for the young Heir she found her opening.
Tapping his sword down with her blade she watched for him to pull it back up, and once her did she moved in with her dagger. Pushing her dagger up against his blade and pushing it away as she closed the distance between them. Placing the sharp point of her blade right up against his chest, easily able to pierce his heart if she had intended and in the moment they were close with only her blade between them she looked to his eyes.
"Dead," she said with a little smile.

Warryn stood there dumb struck. She was... strange, annoying, weird.... and quick.
He lowered his sword, his breathing hard from the adrenaline. "You're a dangerous woman." He said to her, his voice low, their faces not too far.

In contrast, Alessia was cool and collected as they stood there. A strand of hair out of place and hanging in front of her face, laying down past the smile on her lips.
"You're a smart man to recognize that," she said, a short chuckle as she whipped her sword out to the side. Carefully sure to not so much as scratch his clothing. Stepping away she replaced her dagger at her hip.

He let his body breathe, and calm down. The joust was up next after all.
"So you left to study... over there. Why come back?" His voice was even as he talked.

"My instructor had nothing more to teach me, either I found a new instructor or I look elsewhere. I chose to look elsewhere."

"So back here then?" He stepped away, his body language easing away. "Got homesick?"

"When I left this country was in the middle of the Rebellion," she said, looking pensive.
"No, no I cannot say I returned because I was homesick milord."

"Oh, yeah, that must not have been a pretty picture." He rolled his shoulder, before drawing his sword and resuming his routine. "How do you like it so far?"
