Day 1 MM: A bow, an owl and a puppy

[Ferris Cafferen]

The huntsman arrived at the Kellington compound, menagerie in tow, curious as to why Lord Cedric sponsored him.

''My Lord?'' he ventured when inside the tent.

[House Kellington]

"Yes?"
The Lord Kellington was sprawled in a rather lavish chair for the surroundings, his booted feet kicked up over one arm, sort of sideways sat. Lounging, as it were.

He looks over with his dark gaze, and spots the animals. "No, no, no, this won't do. These creatures, they belong to you? They do not belong in here. Out with them, as you would."
He rolls his eyes.

Ferris restrained is miscontentement. He simply turned around to tie the puppy's leash to the banner outside the entrance, taking Tranquil to keep an eye on him.

He returned once done and gave the proper reverence to his lord.

''My Lord, I am Ferris Cafferen.''

[House Kellington]

When he returned, Cedric continued to lounge, expecting Ferris to find a seat for himself. "That's better. Right to it. Aren't you plucky?" He lulled his head to one side.

He should ask how the bannerman's travels had been. He didn't. It wasn't that he wasn't polite, it was that he didn't frankly care and trivialities of anyone who wasn't ...well ...him, to put too fine a point on it.

''I am under no false impression that my mastery of the spoken word is enough to properly intertain someone of your caliber.''

While he was'nt sure Cedric was a good poet, he was not about to question it now

''Thus I prefer to be as forthright as possible, less I make a fool out of myself''

[House Kellington]

"Better you than me," Cedric retorted, and shuffled to get more comfortable, making absolutely no attempt to cater to Ferris.

"You're here to compete in tourney under my sponsorship, isn't that right? One has standards, and I'm betting you have the capability to live up to mine."

[Ferris Cafferen]

''That is correct my lord. I am here for the marksmanship contest later this week''

he paused for a second

''And should the host declare a hunt, I will participate in your name''

[House Kellington]

"Again, better you than me. While I very much enjoy riding, hunting is not one of my proclavities. Know that you are in my favour."

[Ferris Cafferen]

Ferris bowed

''Thank you my Lord. I will also go casually hunting during my stay...I know that our host provides much but if you wish to complement your meals with fresh game I would be happy to oblige.''

[House Kellington]

"Should I fancy anything or find myself a bit peckish, to your presence I will hustle and send you on a merry hunt."

He gives a thin lipped smile that strays far away from reaching his eyes. More words without heart from the carefree Lord.

[Ferris Cafferen]

''Very well my lord. Is there anything more you would ask of me?''

[House Kellington]

A studying pause. "I would ask that you are victorious in your endeavours. I do not sponsor without expectation. The pride of House Kellington is on the line, you're aware." A statement, not a question.

''I am a hunter my lord, I have learned a long time ago to always keep my quarry in sight.'' he lowered his head
