[D3 EE] Wy, what a Terrick idea

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn was waiting patiently for his Riverlander guests to arrive. He felt a chill coming on, with the sun hiding away for sleep. Still, he was clad only in a decent shirt and trousers, not dragging a cloak out just yet. His days were busy, but he liked it that way. He'll be quite busy one day, judging by his father.

[Desmond Terrick]

Desmond and Walder arrived where his sister had told him to meet her. He looked around expectantly.

"Wylla?"

[Wylla Terrick]

As if on cue, Wylla would arrive, wearing a simple coat of lavender to help with the chill, much as any other assortment she seemed to wear, it was of an astutely high class. Gouren was with her, as always, and soon after her own Walder should be arriving. Desmond's voice brought a smile to her lips, as she neared her little brother, her face risen past him and towards their host.

"Worry not, and tarry not, my delightful brother. I would not be late when it is time to meet the entourage of another House."

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn approached the group of River hawks, smiling wide, though he held his arm gently. "Thank you everyone, for coming to meet us. I am Ser Warryn Wydman, and you honor us by your presence." He gave a nod. "I hope everyone is fine?"

[Walder Rivers]

Walder arrived slightly late, his right hand still wrapped at the bicep. He bowed to all present. "M'lady. M'lords."

[Desmond Terrick]

Desmond straightened as he turned to their host, attempting to appear properly formal.

"Good evening, Ser Warryn. Thank you for the invitation and your hospitality." He nodded. "I am Desmond Terrick."

[Allard Terrick]

Not so far behind of Ser Walder, Allard appeared. '' My Lords, Milady'' He bowed to those present.

[Warryn Wydman]

"Welcome Ser Terrick, long time no see. I hope everything has been well?" Warryn was leading the small gathering towards one of the tents of the Wydman compound. Inside there were chairs, a larger table, as well as wine and bread and sausage. "Please, take a seat everyone, and take part in whatever you would like."

There were a couple of larger seats, fit for even Walder's size, and one seat stacked with cushions higher.

[Wylla Terrick]

Wylla smiled, nodding her head in approval to Desmond, before being guided to her seat, placing her hands in her lap respectfully. She'd signal for the rest to follow, as she'd smile. "Walder, Allard.... I am glad to see you both made it. It is an important chance to communicate with another house in-length. There is so very much to talk on. I heard tale of your joust, regardless of the end, I would be very proud should I share your shoes."

[Warryn Wydman]

"Thank you, Lady Terrick, your kind words mean much." He offered food and wine to everyone before continuing. "The reason I invited you over, all, is to have a friendly discussion. I find that many Houses have certain needs that they'd like met, and well... it is rare to see such a congregation from all over the Seven Kingdoms. We are interested in how we can help House Terrick, and perhaps, get helped in return."

[Walder Rivers]

Walder took a seat, trying his best to remember this table manners, with a concentrated frown.

[Allard Terrick]

Allard nods to Wylla and to Ser Warryn. Increasing the ties and friendship to other houses is always important. House Terrick need to expand their alliances besides House Mallister and House Frey. In any case Allard was just a knight of his house, so he will leave the important talk to the descendants of Lord Joseth.

[Desmond Terrick]

Desmond took the seat designated for him.

"We would welcome new friends." he nodded.

[Wylla Terrick]

"Oh?" Wylla's voice would flutter with curiosity as she turned to face their host properly. She couldn't attain the intimacy of looking in his eyes, but that sparkle of of curiosity missed with opportunity would ring even in her own. "I do not wish to sound disrespectful, but do either of us possess the ability to conjure up such a change. My father, and perhaps my elder sister could do a great deal for you. I can merely speak with my father on these matters, and young Desmond as yet to grow to an age where he can lead in our father's stead."

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn smiled patiently, forgetting the woman couldn't see it. "That is true, however, as both of our Lord Fathers are quite busy, I believe that having such a talk on lower levels might help move anything that needs moving. By providing them with a complete picture to base their decision on, we are both making sure their time is used better, as well as learning a bit about leadership. At least, in my humble opinion." Countered the mountain heir.

[Wylla Terrick]

"That is fine, I suppose. I do wonder, Lord Wydman. What do you wish to accomplish. If you are willing to speak of benefits and capabilities, I would be quite happy to arrange some details between us. I mean no disrespect, but I don't know how innately useful your house may be to our cause. Your lands are filled with great wealth, though, so perhaps a deal could be arranged that way?"

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn continued smiling. "That depends on what is it House Terrick seeks. Our lands hold wealth that has not yet been tapped, and though we are a new House, we do have a familial connections to the Warden of the East. What is it that the nobles of Hawkspray seek?

[Wylla Terrick]

"Power. Security. Wealth. What all Houses seek, truly. My brother is our only heir, and should something befall him, my elder sister would be required to marry some lowborn to maintain the family, or myself, I suppose. This places immense pressure on our family, and on my dear brother most of all. I try to do what is best to help and guide him, but I am still but a woman trying to teach a boy how best to become a man."

Wylla's words might be dismissive of herself, but she never faltered in a whimsical smile. Just shy of giggling even as she casually waved a hand in Desmond's direction. She'd continue, her voice gaining no more seriousness, as though explaining something obvious.

"As such, gaining someone of higher station than I is paramount to furthering his own ascension, as well as bolstering our House. Likewise, another House pressing its own political power to keep the dangers of the higher life from him are equally impressive. I don't believe House Wydman can provide either of these answers to my concern, not easily to say the least. And so it falls to wealth. House Terrick has many notable and impressive men at their disposal, is that what you desire? Our strength? Or perhaps our women? I can understand if it were one of my sisters you would court, such an act would help solidify your own strength."

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn listened, and tapped the table. "I can sympathize... one must always look out for family." His voice was sincere as he spoke from experience. "Your determination is admirable, and I assure you, your words have been heard far and wide. You are doing a good job, Lady Terrick."

"We have some clout still... Valemen are not disregarded easily, especially after our recent actions here. We have fought for honor and with skill." He sighed, then leaned back. " Warryn glanced at Desmond, and smiled at him with a friendly smile. "If lord Terrick would like it, perhaps we can have a discussion on our view of leadership?" He turned back to Wylla instinctively, even if she couldn't see his gaze.

"House Wydman would appreciate men of valor and skill. There are still mountain clanners which we would like to clear out. Think of it as a good training exercise."

[Wylla Terrick]

"Oh? Then perhaps you can afford the might of Terrick? We have a great many fine men who are more than capable of routing your enemy. One thing of concern is maintenance. Perhaps you could invest coin and manpower to help maintain our lands, and we would be much more willing to deal with your needs. I would love to work with you, quite intimately, but I'm afraid I must keep a clear mind despite how much I might enjoy you personally. I am but a daughter, but until Desmond's voice and will can usurp mine, I must care for his needs before my desires."

[Warryn Wydman]

"Oh? Then perhaps you can afford the might of Terrick? We have a great many fine men who are more than capable of routing your enemy. One thing of concern is maintenance. Perhaps you could invest coin and manpower to help maintain our lands, and we would be much more willing to deal with your needs. I would love to work with you, quite intimately, but I'm afraid I must keep a clear mind despite how much I might enjoy you personally. I am but a daughter, but until Desmond's voice and will can usurp mine, I must care for his needs before my desires."

Warryn continued smiling, though it was becoming a strain. "Well.... I wasn't sure we are talking about it in so mercenary terms, Lady Terrick." Wow, this woman.... she seemed nicer when we weren't negotiating. Focus, be sharp, don't be distracted, wait work intimiately? Is she talking about? Surely? What?!

"Do not sell yourself short, Lady Terrick. Lord Terrick can learn a lot from you, and I am sure he will." He glanced at Desmond and nodded at him, while still smiling. "It is certainly not something I can offer myself, though I would be happy to inform my father about your desire to work with us."

[Wylla Terrick]

"Of course. I wouldn't wish to place you in a position as precarious as demanding promises to me. In the same vein, as much as I desire to work with you, my father might not look the same. If I had better news to bring him, it would certainly pique his interest, but I don't feel he is a man of maybes~ I shan't believe he would accept me allowing his son to ever grow so weak to accept it either~" The woman's face never wavered in its pleasantness as she would gently run her soft fingers across her brother's arms. "So we will just have to see what Lord Wydman thinks~"
