(D3 LE) Tell Me Quickly, What's the Story

[Cassana Algood]

Lady Cassana entered the holding area and looked at Alessia through the bars. "What happened down there on the grounds?" she asked. Her voice was reserved, straight-forward. It appeared that she was reserving any judgement for the time being.

[Alessia]

Always sure to be ready to receive a guest, as it appeared she was receiving many this evening, Alessia was stood and ready to receive her. Cracking a smirk when the question came directly as it had.

"I am certain you saw what happened as well as I, Cassana," she said with a lighter tone that was soon dropped. "However, I am certain you wish to know why I was there defending the man. You saw the Dunn, yes?"

[Cassana Algood]

"The man with the greatsword, yes?"

[Alessia]

"Once he began, chopping that man in two. I knew that I could not allow things to play out solely as those who claimed to attempt to subdue Baratheon intended. Without me, that man may very well have been dead now and instead he still lives and breathes. A sword was asked to protect a mans life from all that threatened him, and she did."

[Cassana Algood]

"I thought you were not sworn to any House here. Or were you temporarily hired to defend Lyonel Baratheon?" The blonde noblewoman paused and then perked her brow. "Why did you stab the man of my house instead of the one swinging the greatsword?"

[Alessia]

"You all seem so focused on who I stabbed, but unlike the other who claimed this you do not know combat Cassana so I can forgive that," she said with a light laugh. Stepping forward so that she might lean against the bars and look to the other woman directly.

"To explain, had I been able to remove Derrick from the fight. Force him to surrender. There was a better chance of him not finding an axe to his throat. For all that has happened, I cared to save as many lives as possible and Derrick was in danger. Just as Baratheon."

[Cassana Algood]

Cassana's face scowled for a moment at the remark about her ability in combat. She let out a sigh and replied, "You are saying that you were protecting everyone?" The woman took another breath. "Would it not have been better to still stop the man who was actively not detaining others than Derrick, who was? The Dunn man was still in danger too, then, under your explanation."

[Alessia]

"I did not know the others, and that they showed up with armor ready for combat," she let Cassana follow where that thread was leading to the only logical conclusion.

"Truthfully, I cared not for them. Derrick is a fine swordsman, and a fine enough man by my accounts. Just caught up in the moment unaware. As for attacking the Dunn, instead of Derrick, how do you think that would have gone Cassana? Either the man fitted in armor ignores me and attacks Baratheon, leaving Derrick to Baratheon's rage if he is not already dead. Or, he doesn't ignore me, and I find myself against a skilled bladesman with a greatsword. I was there to save who I could but I am no martyr."

[Cassana Algood]

"But he attacked you otherwise, no? At the cost of a nasty wound, from what I saw."

Cassana then raised a brow. "I suppose it is weird that many were armed and ready. But otherwise, they did not go for the killing blow." She shook her head. "That is something to consider."

[Alessia]

"We can debate and question it knowing what happened all we like, Cassana, but in the moment there were few assurances, and I did what I knew was best," she said, letting her head hang a bit as the day and the wound were starting to wear on her.

"And, for that I may have received quite the nasty blow but no one else died. So, can anyone say I was wrong?" she asked, though it was clear Alessia expected only one answer. Only one answer made sense, after all.

[Cassana Algood]

"I suppose it is easier to speak in hindsight," Cassana admitted. She looked Alessia over, a bit more than was proper, and then went back to her eyes. "Were you treated at all or did they throw you in here to rot?"

[Alessia]

"As well as they could, nothing more to do than let the wound heal," she said honestly. Cassana would note the sweat just below her hairline. Indication of the stress placed on her body in every moment following her injury.

[Derrick]

It wasn't too much longer before the young women started to hear a bit of chatting from the guard station. Either there was a change of guards coming or another visitor was making their way to the cells.

[Cassana Algood]

"Well, at least you have that much. Do you want any help with speaking to Lord Ashford?"

[Alessia]

"I only need the chance to speak with the man," she said, putting that confidence of hers into her grin. Hearing the movement from somewhere behind Cassana she looked over the woman's shoulder. Enough to indicate to her that there might be someone approaching.

[Derrick]

She didn't have to look long, as a few moments later Derrick came around the corner. There was a small package under one of his arms, but otherwise he looked much the same as earlier that day. Though he was dressed in scale mail now instead of his leathers.

As he spotted Cassana, he came to a halt before offering a slightly stiff bow. "Milady, Miss Alessia."

[Cassana Algood]

Cassana glanced over at Derrick and then back to Alessia. "Well, this will be interesting," she stated.

[Alessia]

"Didn't expect you here, Derrick," she said with a soft chuckle.

[Derrick]

"What's interesting?" Derrick asked as he approached the pair, his face the same neutral expression as usual. Should he not be here or something? He turned towards Alessia. "I just came by to check on on the prisoner here, brought a few things as well, a bit of an apology about not being able to collect your weapons."

[Cassana Algood]

The blonde noblewoman stepped out of the way and watched the two of them for the time being. She kept her expression as flat as possible but she was clearly quite curious.

[Alessia]

Curious, what he could have brought she surely did not know. However, there was a little something to attend to before anything else moved forward. Looking over to Cassana she bid her friend a moment, "Speaking of, Cassana, I need you to see Warryn Wydman for me. If he remembers me at all he might be a bit ameanable to giving you my blades. It is his men that currently hold them, I do not wish to see how Lord Ashford leans on this matter."

Then, back to Derrick, she raised a brow, "Brought a few things, you say?"

[Derrick]

"Lord Warryn might be amendable to it... He seemed to be a bit better sort then his men." Derrick replied absentmindedly as he started to unwrap the package. "It's not much. Just some bread, and cheese, and a few slices of beef. Enough for a meal or two." He replied as he offered the food in Alessia's direction.

"They don't feed people to well in dungeons, but you'll need to eat if you want to heal." That was followed by a skin of wine being pulled off his shoulder. "Brought some Strongwine too, it should help you get to sleep tonight."

[Cassana Algood]

Cassana stared at the food and then turned her eyes to the ceiling. After a few moments of self-reflection, she looked back to Alessia. "I will see to it then as soon as I am able."

[Alessia]

Watching as he unveiled the gift of sorts she could only smile, this one she didn't even seem to realize at first. "You are... kind, kinder than most."

There wasn't much else for her to say other than that, the gesture was unexpected for sure but she definitely appreciated it greatly. As much as she might claim she was protecting him and Baratheon, a part of her just really enjoyed a good fight. That part of her is what made this seem almost unfair in a way. How their attempts at kindness didn't quite... match up.

[Derrick]

Derrick couldn't help but snort at that. "I'm not that kind Miss Alessia, if I had thought it was the most effective way to solve end the situation I would of stabbed you without hesitation... But just because we were on opposite sides this afternoon doesn't mean I don't respect you..." He frowned a bit, trying to figure out how to word what he wanted to say.

"I think some of the other men out their today treated you unfairly. You fought with more courage and honor then most who sell their blades would." There was another brief pause as he began to open the skin of wine. "Did they give you a cup."
