On the Way Home [D1 E]

[Cassana Algood]

"You could learn more if you put your mind to it." A pause. "I know you can."

[Arwyn Forrester]

She smiled a little, sadly. "I wanted to, when I was young. The needs to the House took precedent. I may yet someday."

[Cassana Algood]

"You wanted to learn how to fight as a young lady? That is quite unusual," Cassana mused, without judgment.

[Arwyn Forrester]

She nods and chuckles a little. "The girls of the North can be pretty spirited. And Marqus and I are only a year apart, so he was the one I tried to compete against."

[Cassana Algood]

"Ah. It would have been bad form if you were to best your brother," she replied with a wry grin.

[Arwyn Forrester]

"I suppose, but I hardly understood that fully as a child," she relies with a shrug, then smiles. "Of course, there are different ways of winning. My brother can have all the glory in the world, and I hope he does."

[Cassana Algood]

Cassana smiled faintly. "We all learn more as we grow older, Lady Arwyn." She muffled a laugh and turned her eyes to the sky. "If your brother takes all the glory, then what is it that you desire?"

[Arwyn Forrester]

She smiles, following her gaze. "I want to secure our House's future, and help protect us from the people who are trying to prey on us. I'd like to travel to every corner of the Seven Kingdoms and learn about all of them. I want think bigger than a minor House." She chuckles and shrugs. "I suppose you could argue that I'm approaching the same thing from a social instead of martial angle."

[Cassana Algood]

The smile on Cassana's face faded for a brief moment when she heard Arwyn's answer. Still, she was able to recover and return to a jovial manner. "Who does not want to advance their own House? We each contribute in our own way."

[Arwyn Forrester]

Arwyn's brows furrow and she looked to the side a little. "Did I say something wrong? I'm sorry..."

[Cassana Algood]

"What? No." Cassana turned away for a moment to look at one of the stands, the red on her cheeks apparent. "I was being honest. Dedication to one's house is a wonderful virtue."

[Arwyn Forrester]

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply you were being less than truthful," she looked down and shook her head. "My apologies... I usually have an easier time with people, but it seems like I haven't shown you the best side of myself this evening. I hope I can do better for you tomorrow, my lady, if you're still willing to ride with me."

[Cassana Algood]

"Oh, no, no." Cassana dipped her head. "It is I who has failed to conduct myself properly. I would be honored to ride alongside you tomorrow."

She let out a sigh and looked at the sky. "Perhaps in the morning? It may be the moon affecting my humor."

[Arwyn Forrester]

She smiled at the assent. "Perhaps so. Let's see one another then. I am glad to hear you agree... I am very much looking forward to it."

[Cassana Algood]

"I'm looking forward to it as well." Cassana took a breath and then looked around idly. "I should bid you farewell then?"

[Arwyn Forrester]

"I suppose I should head back to my family's tent, as much as I would rather otherwise," she replies with a half smile.

[Cassana Algood]

"'As much as I would rather otherwise'?" The blonde echoed.

[Arwyn Forrester]

"I've enjoyed talking to you, so I'd stay if I could," she clarified.

[Cassana Algood]

"Right. Of course," she stated abruptly. Cassana gave the Forrester a curtsy and began to inch away. "Tomorrow then!"

[Arwyn Forrester]

She smiled and curtsied in return. "Tomorrow. Sleep well."

With that, she lifted a hand in goodbye and

/exited.
