[D3 LM] Valar Morghulis: Lyonel Baratheon vs. Leo Tyrell

After ensuring none of the brigands, or the drunken lord, were getting up he stepped back. Ywain had the female fighter covered. Tal had given a nod to Lord Ashford and then remained nearby with his spear held tip downwards in a neutral stance.

He notices Derrick go for the weapons Ywain was covering and frowns slightly. This was a woman who had stabbed the man in the back. Lifting his shield so he could raise his visor he takes in some fresh air. A helmet was very confining and a fight in plate, even a brief one, tiring.

[Ser Ywain Kestrel]

Ywain picked up the blades under his feet. "I'll keep these until the lord says she is fit to see the outside of a cell. She is my prisoner after all," the knight said taking a curious look at the craftsmenship of them.

[Derrick]

Well that was that, the young man didn't argue. Instead moving back to where he was. The others could question his intentions later if they liked.

[Warryn Wydman]

A bloodied and tired Wydman enters the.... well, it's not a fray anymore, is it?

"Well done Tal, Ywain." He gave a nod to his comrades. "And everyone else too. Kevan, Derrick, well fought." There was a pit in his stomach. If he was a little bit faster, perhaps he could...

He let out a sigh though, letting it fall through for now. An ominous start. "Are you guys injured?" He asked and moved closer to the other mountain folks.

[Ser Ywain Kestrel]

"No, cowards took to taking their licks out on the less armoured man at arms there," he paused and called out to Maester Oswell, "Maester don't forget that Algood lad. He might not be acting like it but he got hit rather soundly."

[Talieas Corbray]

Compared to Ywain the other young knight, Tal becomes quite cheerful upon seeing Warryn, rather than serious. "Haha! No young lord, we're solid as the mountain rocks of the Vale!" He calls back cheerfully, moving over to tap Ywain's shoulder and to grin his way. "Ywain here proved he has the strength of a horse and-" Tal gives a nod over to Derrick "-and that young man at arms, Derrick, is as brave as they come. Ywain ensured his bravery, that is leading the charge, was not wasted."

He took a deep breath, briefly glancing over to where the fallen horse and lord were, but looking back and putting them out of his mind he continued. "Tragedies happen yet I trust Lord Ashford's judgment in this. I also trust answers will be forthcoming. For now we should be glad of our own health - and you must take care of yours Warryn." Stopping there he then stabs his spear in the ground and politely indicates Kevan. "Lord Kevan yonder is a fine swordsman. May I be so bold as to suggest you challenging him to a sparring match when your shoulder is mended? The rain today has made everything a mess eh?" Tal was forever one for looking forward and not being all doom and gloom.

[Kevan Dunn]

Hopeful that Lord Ashford would be able to handle delivering justice upon the unrepentant transgressor, Kevan picked up his helmet and moved to see what had happened to his liege lord, even though he practically knew. The view made him sullen as he connected his father's absence with this. There were dark things afoot, and the thought comeplled him to seek out Arwyn on the benches to know she was all right. He replied to whatever knight addressed him but otherwise waited for his Maester to find the time.

[Warryn Wydman]

"Glad to hear all. Aye, you all fought well. Very well." Warryn moved closer to Kevan, who was dark in thoughts. "My condolences for your liege." He offered solemnly.

[Kevan Dunn]

"Thank you, Ser Warryn." Kevan replied solemnly, looking away from the gory view. He wasn't smiling, he couldn't muster a smile at a moment like this. "Have you seen everything from the beginning?"

[Davelyn Sand]

Davelyn stood with Oswell, ready to help however he could. His eyes were sad as he saw Kevan's approach.

[Derrick]

Derrick meanwhile let himself fade into the background, there were men of importance everywhere and it was likely best he stay out of the way. If anyone wanted him for anything they'd be able to find him but otherwise he fell into the normal commoner role in these situations. Out of sight, out of mind.

[Warryn Wydman]

"Sadly no... I was still getting undressed and a once over when it started." He frowned. "It is certainly... ominous." He sighed. "This isn't how knights should behave."

[Kevan Dunn]

"This looks like bloody politics to me." For a moment he left it at that. "I hope the Baratheon will stand fair trial for this, and be punished for this heinous crime." Kevan was losing his composure. "Fuck, this is... was the Lord Paramount of the Reach, and he was killed during nameday jousting, the fuck is even happening here!" Kevan clashed his armoured gauntlets together.

[Davelyn Sand]

The anger of the young man was understandable. Davelyn was similarly disgusted that a Lord of Tyrell's standing was killed like this. But he did not assume that Ser Baratheon had done this intentionally. It was down pouring and it could have just as easily been an accident. But he didn't voice any of this because it was not the time. He simply stood there as he was, the rain washing away the blood and mud from him.

[Warryn Wydman]

"This looks like bloody politics to me." For a moment he left it at that. "I hope the Baratheon will stand fair trial for this, and be punished for this heinous crime." Kevan was losing his composure. "Fuck, this is... was the Lord Paramount of the Reach, and he was killed during nameday jousting, the fuck is even happening here!" Kevan clashed his armoured gauntlets together.

Warryn frowned. "This is.... whatever the fuck this is, this isn't what it should be." He growled. "This is not about grievences of old and new, this should be about a lady growing into her role." His knuckles were tense together as he held them. "Lord Paramounts should not be killing each other. And aye, there should be a fair trial for this one. I really hope there is."

[Kevan Dunn]

"I wonder what comes next. Right now it looks like a start of a big feud." Kevan spat under his breath, nodding in agreement with Warryn, turning away to the empty benches where Targaryens might have been sitting.

[Warryn Wydman]

"A feud would be unwelcome.... it's been only been a little while since we stopped the war with Dorne, and then the Rebellion... sometimes it feels that everyone is just itching for a fight." Everyone who doesn't have an enemy at home, at least. "

[Maester Oswell]

Oswell was a little distracted, but he heard his name and just pointed at the tent he had already been plasnning on using to tend the wounded. He just hadn't expected anything like this...

[Kevan Dunn]

"The riches of the Reach have ever been the subject of envy for some of our neighbours. This is what the Dunns have always been for, to remove brigands and burglars from our doorstep." Kevan's expression darkened as he glanced at Davelyn in passing.

[Ser Reynard]

The Goodbrooks, not close enough or quick enough to participate in the short battle, nonetheless observe all the events and reactions. After a short time the siblings nod wordlessly to each other and head toward the Terrick compound.

[Warryn Wydman]

"The riches of the Reach have ever been the subject of envy for some of our neighbours. This is what the Dunns have always been for, to remove brigands and burglars from our doorstep." Kevan's expression darkened as he glanced at Davelyn in passing.

Warryn frowned, as well. "I can certainly see that... though not everyone nearby is an enemy." He sighed. "Let me know if House Wydman can help in any way."

[Kevan Dunn]

Kevan nodded grimly. "Thank you, Ser. Like you said, first the enemy must be unveiled. For the head to be chopped off it must stick out." He looked around. "It's better that we return to the subject at another occasion."

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn nodded. "Aye. Let's talk later then.." He sighed, before moving closer, whispering. "Mayhaps you should send a few outriders for your father, before something spills out from here that a way?"

[Kevan Dunn]

"I did that yesterday morning." Kevan quietly admitted. Warryn getting the same idea of connecting his father's absence and the murder of Lord Tyrell only vindicated his worries.

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn extended his left hand to clap Kevan's forearm. He winced... his arm was hurt, and slapping plate armor wasn't a good idea. "I'm sure it'll be alright, but it's easier to get angry than to think straight. Family comes first, though. Good thinking though. I'm sure you'll lead well."
