[M D1] The Princes Arrive

[Ferris Cafferen]

Hearing the word 'Menagerie' Ferris was quite sure someone was talking about him. Pulling back his hood he revealed his groomed facial hair and gave the man a smile.

''My steed is being taken to the stables by one of the horsemaster's hand. I would have done it myself but the pup had other ideas''

[Kevan Dunn]

"So you animals don't live in harmony?" Kevan inquired, trying small talk.

[Gwenyth Snow]

He looked at Dustyfor a second before returning his attention to the stranger

''The pup is being headstrong...'' he grinned ''...a normal thing for his age.''

He extended a hand forward

''I am Ferris Cafferen''

It was duly grasped. The shaved man regarded the unshaved one with curiosity.

"Kevan Dunn."

[Ferris Cafferen]

Now it was Ferris's turn to raise an eyebrow as he exchanged the grasp

''You seem to have a question on you mind, my lord''

[Kevan Dunn]

"Just the usual. Why are you here, Lord Cafferen? To joust?"

[Ferris Cafferen]

Ferris could not repress a chuckle

''Sadly no, I am but a poor jouster. I am here mostly the marksmanship test and, gods willing, a hunt.''

He rested his hands on his belt

''And yourself?''

[Kevan Dunn]

"To secure some life goals. Like knighthood and marriage. The rest is a means to that end." Kevan smiled.

[Ferris Cafferen]

''I am sure that what you seek is within reach.''

Still the Dunnman did not seem to be younger then him, not by much anyway.

[Kevan Dunn]

"We'll see about that." Kevan shrugged, looking at the Targaryen banners. "Things do or do not pan out if they depend on just a few instances."

[Arwyn Forrester]

''As long as one does not lose sight of his game, it is is not yet lost'' he replied, not sure on how this conversation should go

"Well I'm not really expecting such a thing to happen, so I'll think about all of that after the fact." He could probably just not talk until he learned the ruled after all.

"I've got more then enough to take care of as it is after all." Helping train ladies wanting to be knights was just one of those.

"I wouldn't be against it for my own House, for sure. Algood, whom I travel with, may also be interested. I will send word to them of your House's interest."

It wouldn't be something so bad for him to consider. A Raven home may do the trick.

"As for me, I won't be jousting. Not the best action for myself. Other forms of combat I may yet consider. If nothing else a few sparring matches between myself and some up and coming warriors, such as yourself, would make the trip worthwhile."

He wasn't much with a blade, but give him a mace or a spear and he could be impressive.

Marqus smiled at the positive response. "Sounds great, all of it. Well, if you want to talk Ironwood at any point let me know. Maybe there's other things the Forresters, Reynes and Algoods could be working towards too?"

That would surprise his father. Taking business at a tourney...

"Anyway, if you're up for some sparring I'm always keen to learn something new. I've got lots of time to train. Need to get out on the archery range too."

Derrick wasn't even sure it was a surprise he would want... Being a knight seemed like something he simply wasn't made for, banquet halls, jousts, perhaps even wooing a lady? Not like he could say no if someone offered it though. "Aye it certainly would be a surprise." He smirked slightly. "You don't intend to put the idea in someone's head do you?" He asked rather certain she didn't intend anything of the sort.

"Perhaps not? Wouldn't I have to go to fancy parties and things like that though?'
