"That is my hope aye. I will speak to the steward later today about my intentions." He smiled at the ladies. "I would be happy to my ladies. I hope you will observe if I do compete?"

"Of course," Gwen nodded. "It's the first time I get to watch a tournament like this!"

Marqus smiled at the positive response. "Sounds great, all of it. Well, if you want to talk Ironwood at any point let me know. Maybe there's other things the Forresters, Reynes and Algoods could be working towards too?"

That would surprise his father. Taking business at a tourney...

"Anyway, if you're up for some sparring I'm always keen to learn something new. I've got lots of time to train. Need to get out on the archery range too."

"I'll speak to the Lord of Algood when I can about your offer and interest and will have him contact your own Lord.", perhaps we can meet up tomorrow and do a bout. Traveling for the few days we have to get here makes a man rusty, and it wouldn't hurt to break out the gear." A affirmative nod at the lad.

He looked around at all the people milling around talking about the Princes.

"It'll be fun to see the jousting action tomorrow. Lots of bid names here. Princes, Lords of great houses. It's going to be a busy week."

"Excellent. I'll be sure to make the time for it." There is a nod as he looks on into the crowd. "It's going to be entertaining in that regards. Unfortunately, many of us are here for other reasons. Things to trade, things to discuss. Never a chance to sit and enjoy the moment."

He frowned thoughtfully. He had a few things under his belt but did not enjoy bragging about it since he always had the impression of disrespecting his prey.

''There was the Stag during the last Kellington hunt. Quite a beast...I got lucky''

He passed a hand throught his hair

"Nothing to boast about really. I got a big one once or twice." Kevan shrugged. "I don't even know what game these lands are known for."

''Good question. I'll find out soon enough though as I am likely to scout the woods later today.''

"Let me know once you learn something interesting about that."

He gives a nod

''Will do my lord.'' he eyed the puppy ''Now if you would excuse me...the dog requires my attention.''

"Yeah, that's what I'm learning too. I thought my father would be here to run things, but he was kept gone by pressing business so I need to help look after family affairs. I guess we'll just have to find enjoyment where we can eh?"

"Are you the heir apparent, Marqus? Either way, it's good to take on such responsibilities, especially independent of your parents. Relying on council and your own instincts. No better time to learn than in here."

He turns back to him in curiousity. "Kings Landing, you said earlier. What brought you out there, if I may ask?"

Derrick wasn't even sure it was a surprise he would want... Being a knight seemed like something he simply wasn't made for, banquet halls, jousts, perhaps even wooing a lady? Not like he could say no if someone offered it though. "Aye it certainly would be a surprise." He smirked slightly. "You don't intend to put the idea in someone's head do you?" He asked rather certain she didn't intend anything of the sort.

"Perhaps not? Wouldn't I have to go to fancy parties and things like that though?'

"The thought did not occur to me," she admitted without any hint of deceit. However, her expression turned more devious. "That does grant me an excellent idea however, Derrick."

Cassana looked around and then looked blankly at him. "Are you not already?"

She smiles warmly. "Of course... I'm looking forward to seeing you on the field."

"Thank yo, the both of you. And perhaps we can meet after the joust sometime? With less people, and some food and wine perhaps?" He smiled pleasantly.

"I might stand guard at a fancy party Milady, that's a bit different to being invited to a fancy party." He wouldn't be at the hubbub this afternoon for example. Trading of the guest rights were something Lords and Ladies did. He paused a moment as her look turned devious. "I'm not sure I want to know Milady."

"I'll take my leave too. The princes have marched, staying behind in awe for too long might be a sign of impressionability." He chuckled. "Well met, Lord Cafferen. I hope to hear about your hunting exploits soon enough."

"I would have to find a suitable knight to pair with you," she stated plainly. It was clear that she was unsure of any match at the time being. Cassana muffled a laugh and dipped her head. "Of course. But at least you would have some experience with the terrifying battlefield that is the courts."
