"You do not need to tell me that, Cassana," she said with a light smirk and a chuckle.

"I suppose I do not," Cassana remarked, followed by a small giggle. "So. You have learned how to wield a blade like the Braavosi. Have you dazzled any Westerosi knights yet?"

"None yet," she said but then shrugged, "Unless they felt dazzled by just witnessing a woman with a blade at her hip. I'll have my chance during this Tourney. Bound to happen."

Sensing some of that consternation, Kevan tilted his head. "My father, the Lord Commander, shall be arriving soon, but most of his bannermen stay home. We treat our duties of defending the border seriously even if most do not consider Done a threat any more. Besides, we put trust in the friendship of House Ashford to keep us safe here." He chuckled. "I guess this way I will not be shamed in competitions by one of my own." It was clear from his voice that Kevan thought the exact opposite about himself, actually being quite the fighter.

Tal nods, not one to argue or misbelieve people. " Ah right you are, I see."

Giving his cheek a quick scratch he looks about the room and then back to Kevan. "This is a big gathering eh? I've never seen so many high lords and fair maidens in one place before."

"Neither have I. Some say dogs bark with their asses at the Burrow, and ravens turn back, so where I've grown up is not a worldly place by reputation. Many lords of the Reach actually pay us to free them from the necessity to appear there." Kevan chuckled.

"Your House must be repositioning itself after the peace with Dorne. There must be some upheavel with that eh?"

"In fact, it hasn't been repositioning. My father believes they don't attack not because they are less treacherous once accepted into the fold but because they are being deterred by him." Kevan commented neutrally, betraying his lack of wholehearted support for that perspective.

The lady of House Algood dipped her head. "Indeed. My brother's children were sent in my stead as wards to the Lannisters."

Cassana smirked. "I do not believe it is so simple. I cannot claim to have the same affinity to wandering as you do, Alessia. Lannisport was a lovely city. However, I do appreciate the change in scenery."

"Which may not be too relevant if the other Kingdoms have their own trouble at the precise same time. Like a bloody succession war." Kevan countered without satisfaction.

That possibility had Tal frowning. It was bad luck to speak of such future things. Even possibly traitorous. He gives Kevan a concerned look after a pause. "I suggest it would be better to speak on something else Lord Kevan."

"It wasn't your home though," she said, looking to the woman before her but then shook her head a little. "Ah, nevermind."

"I hope you'll get the chance to see them one day, Cassana," she said, rising to her feet.

"In a way, it became a home to me." The blonde noblewoman let out a soft sigh. "I grew up there for most of my life."

Her eyebrow perked when she saw Alessia rise. "Are you leaving so soon?"

"You have a better tolerance for places like this than me," she said with a light chuckle. "Come find me sometime while we're all still here, we can have some fun for old times sake."

"If I know you as well I believe I do, then you are clever enough to figure something out quickly."

There was a certain brightness to her smile when she offered a quick nod of her head.

"Till then, Cassana," she said before walking backwards and quickly turning about before making her exit.

"Or perhaps to go about other things today. Certainly problems of the South don't concern knights of the Vale too much, do they?" Kevan mused, tilting his head. "Thank you for bearing with me and my dangerous forecasts, Ser. I wish you success in the tournament."

The Reachman rose and was about to leave.
