[D2 LM] Joust: Abelar Hightower vs. Valarr Targaryen

The last joust of the day is also the most anticipated; where other knights spoke freely of challenging the first four champions, few dared even mutter quietly about thinking to challenge - and attempt to hit - the Young Prince.

The challenger, it seemed, was a young man - barely old enough to be called a man and - someone somewhere quietly noted in the crowd - awfully young for a knight - from the Hightower family. He seemed ill at ease on his horse - though whether it was a lack of experience or nerves at going up against the Young Prince was anyone's guess.

That was a question that wouldn't see an answer on the field.

The two jousters charged at one another, Hightower grey against Targaryen red and black. One pass was all it needed - Hightower's lance went wide, missing the Young Prince entirely, while Valarr's struck true and home, ramming the side of the shield and sending the young Hightower spinning off his horse to the ground.

The Young Prince brought his horse around and trotted over to his fallen opponent; from a distance, it almost looked like he shook his head before he slowly walked his horse back towards his pavilion.

His brow furrowed, Lord Ashford slowly rose to his feet, "Er, victory to our Prince Valarr!"

The crowd roared their pleasure but the prince hardly seemed to notice as he left the jousting grounds.
"That's what I do - I drink and I know things."
