[D3 LA] Wy Dunn we talk?

[Kaelyn Dunn]

"Doing much better now that the storm has passed Lord Wydman," she answered his question as they began to sit. She'd donned her boots to help with the mud she knew would be covering the ground. She was happy to be settled at the table under the pavilion despite the now clear skies. She came back out of the clouds to hear Kaliya's introduction.

[Tomas Flowers]

Tomas gives Kailya a confused look when she calls him a future knight, but quickly recovers and tries to look presentable.

"Thank you."

Talieas follows suit and takes a seat as offered.

[Ser Ywain Kestrel]

Ywain removed his cloak and took a seat. "Thank you."

"He has something of the right spirit for it at least," he said giving the boy he recognized from the scrum the previous day a nod.

[Talieas Corbray]

"Aye, like that blonde haired little girl who kicked me in the shin eh?" He says to Ywain, laughing softly.

[Maester Oswell]

"Sounds like it was quite the...gathering. No wonder I'm seeing so many people needing medical aid today." Oswell chuckled. "I hope there was no serious damage done to anyone?"

[Ser Ywain Kestrel]

"You do have remarkably kickable shins. I keep telling you to get thicker boots," the knight said with a little laugh, "It'll make it much less painful."

[Kaliya Redding]

Kaliya took her seat and accepted a cup of wine, letting the heat of the drink creep into her cold fingertips. She observed the knights jest with silent interest, in no rush to push them to start the real business.

[Talieas Corbray]

"Bah! No damage done." Tal responds with good humour. "I was just keeping you safe from her kicks Ywain. You never know where kids might kick eh?" Now he was grinning.

[Kaelyn Dunn]

At that, Kaelyn averted her eyes. She might be naive and chaste, but even she could tell what the knight meant.

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn laughed, even as he was massaging his left arm. "Well fought, all of you. Now, how about we stop scaring the poor ladies here, and give Maester Oswell a heart failure with all this talk of injury." He took a seat, and accepted the offered beverage. "Everyone... I will be a bit blunt. Judging from experience, every House needs something nowadays. Wydman is no exception, and from what Kevan told me, Dunn isn't either. We're interested in how we can help each other, if we can."

He gave a nod to everyone. "As we've barged into your abodes, we should start? Or would you prefer to start?"

[Kaliya Redding]

Blunt is good, leave the coyness to me, Kaliya hid her thoughts behind a charming smile. "please, Lorrd Wydman, begin. We arre, afterr all, herre by yourr rrequest."

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn nodded. "Certainly. We'd appreciate if some of the Dunn force,s and the more experienced commanders, could pay us a visit for some training exercises." He said it delicately. "I am sure our own warriors could learn much from the famed marcher guardians."

[Kaliya Redding]

An eyebrow went up smoothly, "now is not the time to be coy, Lorrd Wydman. If you requirre the Burrow to commit herr trroops, you must have some idea how larrge a forrce you rrequirre, and forr how long."

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn shrugged, glanced at his friends. "A year, and preferably one or tow companies." He stated simply. "Of course, we don't expect gifts. What about House Dunn? I am sure there is something you would like."

[Kaliya Redding]

Nodding, Kaliya folded her hands on the table before her. "Therre may be something you can assist us with in the shorrt terrm. As you know, tensions between Dorrne and the Rreach have simmerred since Dorrne joined the Rrealm. Some Marrcherrs have been slow to adjust."

"If yourr fatherr werre to speak openly in supporrt of Dorrnish integrration, he would be setting an example forr the Marrcherrs to live up to. If you can convince yourr fatherr, it would cerrtainly go a considerrable way to making the Burrow morre amenable to yourr needs."

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn frowned. "Amenable is good, but you must admit, Lady Redding... even though Dorne is part of the Kingdoms now, standing up to them, while honorable, is still a contentious issue." He leaned back, taking another sip of wine. "We are a new House, and we are marking ourselves if we stand out to say as such. We need more than vague suggestions of friendship for such a decision."

[Kaliya Redding]

Still smiling, "of courrse, Lorrd Wydman, but you must underrstand ourr need to test the waterrs. I prray you considerr that we do not ask forr a commitment of forrces, orr even a pledge of mutual assistance should the call to arrms fall upon us. We ask only forr a boon of worrds. Please take that into account when you weigh what you need against what we ask."

She stresses the word 'need' as if to suggest that the Vale's situation was more immediate and dire than the Reach's.

[Ser Ywain Kestrel]

Ywain sipped his wine and gave the heir a pointed look. It sounded a cheap way to earn some troops but politics were not his strong suit and it was likely the lordling knew better than.

A pause, another sip, and a pleased sound.

"This wine is quite nice. Where is it from?"

[Kaliya Redding]

"Thank you, Serr Ywain," Kaliya turned her dark eyes to him, "the wine is frrom the Rredding winerry, one of the few vineyarrds to grrow rred grrapes in the Rreach. I shall convey yourr prraise to my brrotherr-in-law, he shall be most pleased."

[Ser Ywain Kestrel]

The young knight nodded. "Ah, yes, please do," he took another sip, "It is quite lovely." He added slowly realizing the eyes on him.

[Talieas Corbray]

Tal gives his slightly younger friend a good clap on the shoulder. "Your tastebuds are becoming more and more refined Ywain. It is good eh?" He says all jolly, lifting his cup. "To my ears, as inexperienced in politics as they may be, it sounds like both the Dunns and the Wydmans have options to support one another. Surely this good fortune is worth a toast?" His gaze shifts happily from Warryn to Kaliya and back as he waits for one to take the initiative.

Kaliya smiled; and her large eyes and full, red lips, framed with raven-black hair, could be quite the overwhelming combination. Though she moved to slide her fingers around her own wine cup, she did not lift it in preparation of a toast. Her gaze crossed to Tal, lingered there, regarding him, before returning to Warryn.

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn raised his glass. "A toast! Honor is all over Westeros, from the mountains to the plains. For friendship and future fortunes." The woman was tough... and he'd need to convince his father. Still, it might work.

[Kaliya Redding]

Lifting her cup, "to frriendships, and gifts that such frriendships brring." She studied the Wydman heir across the table with an assessing eye.
