[D4 LM] The Third Break: Joust Main Event Observation

[Kaelyn Dunn]

Kaelyn walked to the jousting with soft trepidation. She hadn't been there yesterday when all Seven Hells broke loose. She didn't know if she could trust today any better, but she knew she had to be seen. She proudly wore the colors of House Tyrell; she hadn't brought with her any black. Perhaps that was short-sighted of her but she'd never heard of such a tragedy occurring at an event like the one at Ashford.

[Arwyn Forrester]

Arwyn heads down to the jousts to watch, her mood matching the crowd's more pensive one today. She noted the other young woman already present, dressed in House Tyrell colors. She herself was in black. It was one of her House's colors, which made having it on hand easy enough... just a matter of choosing one of her dresses where it featured more heavily.

Coming over, she curtsied to the other young woman. "Please pardon me... do you mind if I join you?"

[Kaelyn Dunn]

Kaelyn stood and curtsied to the beautiful young lady. "Of course, please." she motioned to the seat next to her. "I am Kaelyn of House Dunn."

[Derrick]

There was another in the stands watching the days joust once again. He wasn't as interested now that Warryn was gone, but he thought he should watch anyways. There was the faint chance he would joust after all.

[Arwyn Forrester]

"House Dunn... You're a relative, then of Kevan Dunn?" She asked, looking surprised but pleased. "I have meant to speak to more of his family. I am Arwyn Forrester, daughter of Lord Eddard Forrester of Ironrath."

[Kaelyn Dunn]

Kaelyn didn't know how she did it, but she thought she kept her face neutral. Her eyes may have bugged out a bit and the butterflies in her belly were back full force. In fact, calling them butterflies was likely a mistake. They were something much larger and more powerful. She pressed a hand against her stomach to quell the feeling.

She smiled and dipped her head again. "Then it is my honor to meet you. I am Lord Dunn's cousin."

'NOTHING HAPPENED!! Okay, you can't scream that out loud in public. Let's go with something less drastic.

"I believe Lord Kevin may have let your name slip as the possible next Lady of The Burrow." she whispered quietly, smiling. "I would very much like to know you better."

[Arwyn Forrester]

She didn't miss Kaelyn's eyes bugging out, and got... entirely the wrong impression about what she was thinking. "Oh, it's a pleasure, then," she looked a little nervous, as well. A genuine demure blush spread across her cheeks as she heard she'd been mentioned. "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised he mentioned that possibility... I spoke to my family about it, too. It would be my honor to get to know you better, as well."

Some part of her mind noted that Kevan's attractiveness seemed to run in the family. This girl was stunning. She might have been interested in her in other circumstances.

Kaelyn settled a bit. She was on edge, there was no doubt about that. Training from her youth took over, ever the hostess even if she were not hosting. "What sort of things do you enjoy, Lady Arwyn? Are you finding the activities here much different than the North?"

'That's a stupid question, Kaelyn. It's not like they do ritualistic dances around their grain barrels.'

"What I mean is, I've never been, so I'm curious about any differences."

[Derrick]

Derrick recognized the two ladies in the crowd, one pretty the other beautiful, but he didn't try to approach the pair. Merely sinking into the background as he usually did, his ears open listening to whatever important matters that might be discussed. Lord Kevan, and next lady of the burrow certainly sank in. It put a few things together in his head at the very least.

[Davelyn Sand]

Popping down in the seat next to Derrick, the Dornishman sighed quietly, like he was feeling relieved, as he began watching the field.

'She's worried about what SHE'S done with Kevan?? I knew I would feel guilty, but...'

"Oh, I have yet to meet Lord Marqus. Has he done well?" 'Don't confess!' "I must confess, I haven't been the most attentive when it comes to who has been riding their best. I have been using the events to talk with people as speaking to others without first being introduced is quite new to me. I'm usually quite shy." 'Except for last night. Okay, you have GOT to stop thinking about this, Kaelyn!'

Lowering her voice, she near whispered, "And I don't believe rumors in general. I certainly won't start now."

[Arwyn Forrester]

"He did well in the squire's joust so hopefully when he can ride he'll do well in the main event," she replied with a warm smile. At Kaelyn's assurance, she smiles. "That makes sense... there are so many people here. Ironrath is relatively isolated."

"That's a good policy, and I'm glad for it... I'd hate for any of his family to think less of me."

[Kaelyn Dunn]

Kaelyn took Arwyn's hand in hers briefly and smiled. "I don't know if you like to ride for fun, but I haven't been pay proper attention to Tyana, my Palfrey. Can I interest you? Or some other activity? I have a gyrfalcon I'm very fond of. You could meet her." She released the Lady's hand.

[Derrick]

"Good morning. Ser Davelyn Sand, sworn knight of Lord Cedric Kellington." He looks to the man with a smile and offers a hand to shake.

[Warryn Wydman]

Warryn felt strange coming to the joust to observe, after the last couple of days. He waved greetings to those he met... quite a few people apparently. He nodded in a few places, got a couple of pats on the back, before settling into a place to watch.

Not yet visible to the chatting Arwyn and Kaelyn, Kevan slowly walked into the rows o benches, seeking a place for himself. He stopped momentarily in a quiet dread but once he discerned that the conversation actually looked civil he exhaled and proceeded, with lips still pressed together. Having both in agreement would be great if it were true, of it wouldn't be, he could not decide. This was all too fresh.

[Davelyn Sand]

The hand remained in place to shake. "You did really well the other day Derrick. I saw your joust during the squire's competition. Fine form," he says with a nod of approval. "Do you intend on taking up the offered challenge near the end days of the lists?"

[Derrick]

"I haven't decided." Derrick said honestly. "I doubt I'd be much of a match for any of the knights I've seen so far." He wasn't particularly good in the saddle after all. "I am somewhat curious how I would do though."

"Are you planning to complete, Ser?"

[Arwyn Forrester]

[Kaelyn Dunn]

"Perfect! I'm excited. I am free most of tomorrow, save for the events. A friend suggested riding down by the river. I normally ride at the edge of the woods but I have not been brave enough to venture in alone." Kaelyn smiled. "Are the horses in the North bred to handle the cold weather? I mean, they must be, but how do you keep them warm enough?"
