Warryn Wydman wrote:"You too melady." Warryn tried smiling. "You're a curious one, aren't you?"
He sighed. "Some dangers, but not too bad. Better than what we usually face, actually."
Derrick wrote:"Perhaps in the grand melee Milady." He offered after a moment. "I'm no knight though, so the jousting isn't something I'll do." He likely wouldn't do well anyways, and he shouldn't risk embarrassing an actual knight. He didn't much attention to the young girl trying to slip past the guards. She wasn't his charge to watch after all. "A bit, it means no one will be trying to fight with the sun in their eyes. Which makes things a bit more even. Also even the most late risers are usually up by then, so it gives you more options of who to challenge?"
Derrick wrote:"Not as much as most knights." He agreed with a nod. "It's not really called forces much for a man like me after all."
"One hopes Milady, i would like to see a lot of different styles while im here. Perhaps see what i can learn."
Gwenyth Snow wrote:The child wondered how she could contribute to the conversation, to help Arwyn, as she knew they were supposed to be friendly with the other houses here.
"... What are mountain men?" was the best she could think of.
Cassana Algood wrote:"Perhaps you could requisition a spare rounsey," she remarked without much investment.
Cassana perked a brow. "I am unsure of what else you will see, Derrick. There are many Westerosi knights here for a tourney after all." She looked to the sky. "I suppose there could be Braavosi here for the grand melee but ultimately I imagine you will see much of the same."
Warryn Wydman wrote:The littlest blonde voice caught his interest. "There are many clans in the mountains, heathens, who refused to bow when my ancestors came, and refused to accept the Seven as their gods. They sneak and haunt the mountains, pretending that they are the rightful owners of the land." He smiled as he explained, before turning towards Arwyn.
"I'll be honest my lady, good news and good health are rarely boring, at least where I come from. I hope the land dispute gets solved soon enough and your family can enjoy your own range." He frowned. "Ironwood?"
Arwyn Forrester wrote:"I see." Arwyn studiously keeps amusement out of her face and voice, staying simply friendly. She could have taken offense at the comment about heathens who don't worship the Seven, but it just seemed rather funny instead. "Our groves of Ironwood trees are our main resource. They're some of the largest in Westeros, and they make the finest ships and shields built. My brother, Marqus, has one of our shields if you'd like to look at the quality some time."
Marqus Forrester wrote:Another Forrester watched the spectacle, with obvious delight etched upon his face. Even with all the time he spent at Kings Landing he hadn't seen this many of the Targaryens gathered together.
As the procession eventually made its way into the castle a grin remained. Marqus looked around the crowd, winking at his sister when he saw her, but leaving her to whatever she was up to. Instead he looked for any interesting knightly types who might want to talk about manly stuff...
(PM if interested!)
Derrick wrote:"Already have one." He offered in response to the comment about a Rounsey. "He's a bit old and persnickety, but he serves me well."
"As for what I plan to see, well it's the little thing's I'll be looking for Milady. I might mostly see Westeros knight's, but that doesn't mean they all fight the same. With the same weapons, and the same techniques. Spotting a Bravoosi might be interesting though... I'd like to study a bit about their way of fighting." Not that he really planned to use it, but it was interesting.
Ulrich Reyne wrote:As he moved around in the crowd, he happened to bump in a young man, wearing the sigil of the tree. It was always a surprise to see a Northern house venture out of their lands, much less out in this direction.
"My my, a Northerner way down here." Ulrich looks at the boy with a smile. "Come to take on the challenge?"
Cassana Algood wrote:"I see," she said, obviously a little surprised by how she did not know about said rounsey. "What about a lance? Do you possess any training with one?"
Cassana remained silent as she thought on his words. "I suppose the Reach may do battle differently from the Vale," she admitted.
